welcome to the RSG BROKLEDE'S
world week!
World Week is an exciting and enriching experience that takes place from February 12th to 16th, 2024. It's a time when our bilingual classes learn more about one specific theme, typically tied to a global issue. This year, we've taken a broader approach by aligning our themes with the United Nations' sustainable development goals, offering more room for teachers to decide on the activities that best encapsulate these critical topics.
In year one, we discuss the issue of Climate.
In year two, we explore the essential themes of Freedom and Equalities.
In year three, we discover the world of Economy and Sustainable Entrepreneurship.
During World Week, or "Wereld Week," our primary aim is to broaden your horizons. We do this through a series of cross-curricular workshops and lessons, designed to encourage you to think about global issues and connect your various subjects together. World Week is a fundamental part of your TTO (Tweetalig Onderwijs) journey, enabling you to approach international topics from various perspectives.
This year, we're thrilled to introduce a new element. All students are invited to bring their ideas or products to the final event of the week, which we've named the "Initiative Fair."
Your mentor will provide an introduction to the chosen theme and goals during the week before World Week begins. Instead of your regular lessons during World Week, you'll engage in lessons more closely related to the week's theme, culminating in the development of an initiative. The week following World Week, you'll have the opportunity to discuss and evaluate what you've learned. You'll also be asked to write a short reflection on your World Week experiences and upload it to your Simulise portfolio.
Get ready for a week of exploration, innovation, and a deeper understanding of global issues. World Week is your chance to make a difference and to embrace the world as your classroom. We can't wait to embark on this educational journey with you!
